Cake and presents are the main attraction of every birthday party, but you’ll want to have some exciting party games planned to keep the kids entertained. Coming up with great games can be daunting. Here are three great, classic game ideas that will get the party started and keep everyone in a celebratory mood.
Musical Chairs
What you need: Chairs and music
Rules: Set up chairs in two rows back to back or in a circle facing outward. Have every child stand in front of a chair. Start famous song. Kids walk around the chairs dancing. Remove a chair. Stop the music and ask everyone to take a seat. The child without a seat can help you remove two chairs the next round and so on. Last kid seated wins.

Memory Tray
What you need: Household items, tray, scarf
Rules: Collect different objects (clock, cup, block, toothbrush, etc.) and place 7-10 on a tray (less objects for younger kids). Ask the children to look at the tray. Place a scarf over the tray and remove an object. The children should name the missing object. The child who names the object can remove the next item. Repeat until all kids have had a turn.

Button, Button
What you need: Button
Rules: Children can sit down on the floor of a room. The birthday child leaves. Someone hides the button in the room. When the child gets back into the room, he tries to find the button. The other children tell the kid whether he’s hot or cold (near or far from the button). After he finds the button, he chooses another child to leave and hides the button. Continue until everyone has a turn.
