5 Tips to Throw a First Birthday Party for Your Baby

Your baby is turning 1, and you want to throw a great party. So far so good. But with the unpredictable mood of your little guests, that wonโ€™t be an easy task. A little extra planning before the party will make this a sweet occasion filled with joy, cute birthday decorations and lovely activities.

Here are some tips to make your babyโ€™s first birthday party stress free.

1. When planning a party for a baby the timing is very important. There are a couple of things you need to keep in mind.

โ€“ the party should last an hour to an hour-and-a-half at the best. Babies run out of energy and interest quickly so it is close to impossible to keep their attention for long.

โ€“ the best time for the party is late morning or late afternoon when baby isnโ€™t tired and in good mood.

2. You may feel like you want to invite all your relatives and friends to your kidโ€™s first party, but that is not the best approach. I suggest you could scale back the guest list to avoid overwhelming your baby.

3. If you would like to fully enjoy your babyโ€™s big day, consider hiring a babysitter or asking a family member to help you with your hosting duties.

4. Since many of the babies at this age are still on all fours, you need to make special play zone for your little guests filled with age-appropriate toys. Set chairs around the place for parents to relax and watch.

5. You need to consider the snacks you will serve very carefully. Ask your guests if there are food allergies to keep in mind. Keep snacks simple, like chopped fruit and graham crackers for the kids, and more grown-up versions for the adults to eat.

There is nothing to worry about. After all, you just have to know that your baby doesnโ€™t care whether you throw the party of the season or just celebrate at home with your close family. All your baby needs is love and attention.
